Benzie Housing Council: $18,000 [Capacity]
To hire a staff person to address the critical areas of transparency and accountability, marketing and fundraising as identified in an External Assessment.


Boys and Girls Clubs of Grand Traverse: $50,000  [Capacity]
To hire and train a full-time executive director and part-time administrative support personnel for the purpose of resuming programming for youth in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties, who come challenging circumstances, through Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Traverse.

 

Catholic Human Services: $15,000 for Host Homes for Homeless Youth [Program/Pro-Active/Year 2]

To support Host Homes for Homeless Youth, which matches identified youth with host families to provide safe, temporary housing, keeping high risk students from dropping out of high school.

 

Community Reconciliation Services: $13,000 [Capacity]
To expand conflict resolution service to the region by adding staff that will enable the organization to develop strategic partnerships and service contracts, increase awareness of mediation and facilitation, and establish a sound financial base.


Community Resource Development: $30,000 [Program; Year 2 of funding]
To provide funds for the full-time Director for Mancelona Vision 2020, an affordable housing project in cooperation with Antrim Habitat for Humanity which aims to eliminate substandard housing and its causes by 2020 in the Village of Mancelona.


Conservation Resource Alliance: $20,000 [Program; Year 2 of funding]
To support the Conservation Resource Alliance as it expands its WildLink program into Grand Traverse County. Grant funds will help support technical program staff, who work with landowners to create management plans and implement improvement on their land.

 

Fishtown Preservation Society: $50,000 [Capital]
To assist with the acquisition of the Historic Fishtown site and ultimately preserve it  through educational programs and restoration of buildings on the property.

 

Grand Traverse Bay Alliance: $38,887 [Capital]
To undergo an internal and external rehabilitation of structures at the newly acquired property on West Bay. Renovations will address safety, accessibility, environmental and appearance concerns of several buildings, as well as the docks and mooring field. 

 

Grand Traverse Bay YMCA, $250,000 [Capital]
To help fund the construction of a new family YMCA for the residents of Grand Traverse, Antrim, Benzie, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties.

 

Grand Traverse Conservation District: $20,000 [Capacity]
To develop and implement a sustainable funding plan for programs and operations; to clarify and promote the District’s identity and value to the community; and to strengthen board governance and internal communications.

 

Grand Traverse County: $5,887 [Capital]
To partially fund the installation of hardware and software that will provide public internet access to the Grand Traverse County Geographic Information System for the Grand Traverse community and region. 

 

Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum: $10,000 [Capital]

To install webcam systems at both the Grand Traverse Lighthouse and Fox Island Lighthouse to benefit visitors who are unable to visit because of location and/or physical abilities and to provide added security. 

 

Grass River Natural Area: $15,000 [Capacity]
To increase Grass River Natural Area's outreach to the public and area schools while embarking on a campaign to improve the educational experience of all visitors to the preserve.

 

HomeStretch: $40,000  [Capacity]
To hire and train a staff person to manage the housing development process and related activities. This will result in increased production and operational income for the corporation. This grant was funded as part of Rotary Camps & Services’ Affordable Housing proactive initiatives.

 

Leelanau Conservancy, $50,000 [Capital]
To help fund the acquisition of the 145-acre DeYoung Natural Area on Cedar Lake in Elmwood Township for mixed public use.  

 

Leelanau County: $25,000 [Capital]
To partially fund the purchase of property to create Veronica Valley Park. The 93-acre parcel offers fishing, recreation areas and wetlands. 

 

Meadow Brook Medical Care: $10,000 [Program]
To implement an Oral and Health Prevention Program to improve the oral and general health of 200 very elderly and frail residents of Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. 

 

Michael’s Place: $25,000 [Capacity]
To partially fund a Grief Services Coordinator, who will focus on service delivery, freeing up the Executive Director for more fundraising activity.

 

National Cherry Festival: $10,000 [Capacity]
To develop an employee and volunteer manual, as well as provide volunteer training for Ambassadors, Event Coordinators, Committee Chairpersons, Staff and Board of Governors. 

 

NorthSky Nonprofit Network: $100,000 [Capacity]

To assist in the delivery of management support organization programs and services for the region’s nonprofits.

 

Northwest Michigan Council of Governments (NWMCOG): $50,000 for Kal-Tec [Program/Pro-Active/Year 2]
To substantially reduce poverty in Kalkaska County over the next decade. Kal-Tec will offer a wide variety of educational and skill development courses in Kalkaska County.

 

Northwest Michigan Human Services Agency: $35,000 [Program]
To support the coordination and implementation of the creation of a language and education program for immigrant and migrant members of the Grand Traverse community. 

 

Northwest Michigan Human Services Agency: $22,000  [Capacity]
To move forward the Business Development component of Northwest Michigan Human Services Agency's (NMHSA) Strategic Plan, which includes the generation of non-grant funding for additional service flexibility and infrastructure.

 

Paradise Township: $5,090 [Capital]
To establish a safe and usable public boardwalk, as well as improve the lookout area, at Mayfield Pond Park.

 

Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear: $25,000 [Program]
To provide partial funding for the design, fabrication and installation of an educational exhibit at the historic Charles Olsen Farmstead that will provide interpretation of the historic cultural landscapes within Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

 

TART Trails: $25,000 [Capacity]

To hire a professional Development Director to work with the staff and board of directors

to increase donor revenue.

 

Third Level Crisis Intervention Center: $25,000  [Capacity]
To hire a professional Director of Development to increase donations in support of programs and services from the communities where these services are provided.

 

Traverse City Housing Commission: $15,000 [Program]
To assist the Housing Commission by providing seed money for its non-profit subsidiary Traverse Area Housing Development Corporation, while it concludes the purchase of two local apartment communities for affordable housing.

 

Traverse Symphony Orchestra: $25,000  [Capacity]
To increase the capacity of staff and volunteers in order to strengthen major, planned and endowment gift programs, with the goal of establishing a $2 million endowment that will provide substantial earned income and a greater financial stability.

 

United Way of Northwest Michigan: $26,500 [Capacity]
To support an organizational development project within the Volunteer Center to expand its volunteer recruitment and outreach in Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties.

 

Village of Bellaire: $25,000 [Capital]
To make improvements and repairs to the softball and baseball fields at Craven Park.
